In Poland, these colored stalks of grain are used to celebrate in church on Palm Sunday (real palm trees did not grow in Poland). In a beautiful testament to the Polish agrarian tradititon, dried wheat, herbs, and flowers are dried, dyed in various colors, and gently tied into bunches.
