In Polish, wieprzowina ("vyep-shoh-VEE-na") means "pork" meat. Pork is an essential part of Polish cuisine ("kuchnia") with cuts ranging from ham ("szynka") to shoulder ("kark├│wka") and from bacon ("boczek") to ribs ("┼╝eberka").

Delicious and versatile, pork is the basis for nearly all Polish cold cuts and kielbasa, and can also be prepared as chops ("schabowe"), in stew ("gulasz"), ground ("mielone"), or as drippings ("smalec").

In Poland, folks serve cuts of pork with these sorts of grocery items and these types of gourmet dishes and sides.
